NEW! Special Summer Camp: Animal Adventure Camp, August 4-8

From August 4-8, kids ages 10 and older can learn how to take care of live animals at the “Animals of the World: A Conservation Exhibit” up-close and personal. This camp will be taught by professional staff and animal care givers. Your children will learn biological and zoological information about the animals, too! Guest appearances will be made by animal experts, and your children will get to talk with them. Summer campers also get to learn about animals and insects from four of the Heard Natural Science Museum’s different exhibits: “Rat Snakes to Rattlers: Live Texas Snakes”; “Animals of the World: A Conservation Exhibit”; Heard permanent animal collections; and “Native Texas Butterflies” exhibit.

Other summer camps are available NOW!

Choose from Camp Salamander, Camp Copperhead and Eco-Explorers. Studies include nature CSI, microscopy and aquatics, reptiles and birds, insets and nocturnal animals and many more! Campers will also have the opportunity to experience three major exhibits at the Heard including: “Animals of the World: A Conservation Exhibit”, “Rat Snakes to Rattlers: Native Texas Snakes”, and “Native Texas Butterflies” which opens on Monday, July 14.
