The New North String Band is a bluegrass group made of members from across Minnesota and Wisconsin. Formed in June of 2008, the group plays a variety of original and traditional music.

This rising young bluegrass group has been featured on a nationally distributed bluegrass compilation, been invited to Nashville to perform at the International Bluegrass Music Association’s “World of Bluegrass Week”, and has released its debut CD entitled "NNSB."

The New North String Band released their self-titled debut CD in 2009 for their ‘one-year anniversary’ as a group. This CD has been a real success, receiving radio play on bluegrass shows across the U.S.

Three songs off of their debut album have won national song-writing awards including 1st place at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas for their original rendition of the fiddle tune “Billy In The Low Ground”.

Greg Gilbertson will also be performing on the 27th. Greg, a Chippewa Falls native, plays solo finger-style guitar, and is a real entertainer. Greg took 3rd place in the 2009 International Finger Style Championships as well as being voted the #1 folk performer in the Chippewa Valley last
