New Monsoon combines the rhythmic elements of world percussion with energetic acoustic and electric guitar work and a highly original vocal style. The infectious grooves are powered by Afro-Cuban and Indian percussion and often textured by the Australian didgeridoo. Lewi Longmire, Portland's multi-instrumentalist "go to guy," leads a roots-rock band in music he has written in the American tradition of good songs, high energy, deep roots and an unpretentious sense of fun.
