New Mirrors: Painting in A Transparent World January 14, 2010

New Mirrors surveys the state of current painting through the work of seven New York-based artists whose varied directions include TV-still realism, found abstract minimalism, and points in between. In particular, this exhibition positions painting as a way of thinking about perception in the age of digitization, information and instantaneity elements of contemporary life that create an increasingly transparent world. The featured artists are Kadar Brock, Jesse Chapman, Mira Dancy, Benin Ford, Alison Fox, Andy Piedilato and Julia San Martin.
