The music of the New Mexican Revolution has its roots in the gothic Americana of performers like Nick Cave, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Wilco and Los Lobos. Our songs are stories of drifters, wanderers and lost souls set against a kaleidoscope of American music, with an array of instrumentation and textures.

The band had its start in 1999 in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Over the course of many states and many band members, a full length CD, The Promise of Mutiny, was recorded and released. Built largely from songs Wes had played for years, the songs benefit from a long list of friends and showcase an eclectic blend of talented music making and bent storytelling. The CD was released on Box Full of Records in September of 2004. The current lineup has played together regularly throughout Portland since 2004 and has completed their first Left Coast tour, with another in works for September 2005
