New Inforum Seminars Help Women Balance Work and Family

Inforum, Michigan's largest professional organization for women, will present two seminars in the coming months that focus on helping women balance the challenges of excelling in their careers while managing family responsibilities. The seminars will be presented in both Southeast and West Michigan.

The fall seminar is "The Sandwich Generation: Caring for Me While Caring for Them." People who are balancing a professional job in addition to caring for an older family member or friend are likely to stall their careers, lose a job, experience emotional stress or encounter negative economic impacts. This seminar will help caregivers prepare to make necessary financial, medical, and legal decisions when caring for another adult while keeping their careers on track.

Presenters: Laurel Felsenfeld, Professional Geriatric Care Manager, Aging Answers, LLC; Carine Hails, Attorney, Hails Law, PLLC; and Colleen Theuerkauf, Financial Advisor, Raymond James & Associates.

Dates & locations:
Thursday, November 6, 2008
8-10:30 a.m.
Birmingham Community House, 380 South Bates St., Birmingham, MI, 48009

The winter seminar is “Excellence Without Exhaustion: Personal Growth & Energy Management.” Although the pace and intensity of today's world drains workers’ energy faster than ever, few people develop a regular practice to grow, renew and maintain their energy. This seminar teaches how to manage energy to excel in business while fending off exhaustion and enhancing overall health and life.
