The public is invited to support Nevada's best higher education students Tuesday for the first round of the Governor's Cup oral presentations at the Siena Hotel Spa and Casino in Reno. The event is free and open to the public, previewing business ideas for the future.

Graduate and undergraduate students are competing for cash awards in excess of $110,000 for the third annual Donald W. Reynolds Governor's Cup Business Plan Competition, Nevada's only statewide collegiate awards program.

From 9 am to 5 pm on Tuesday, students will present plans that best employ clean, renewable or efficient energy technologies and services during the Lt. Governor's Awards oral presentations. The three graduate teams and three undergraduate teams will compete for $5,000 first prizes.

Finalists in the main Governor’s Cup competition will compete in oral presentations on April 26 for $20,000 first prizes, $10,000 second prizes and $5,000 third prizes from 8 am to 5 pm at the Siena Hotel Spa Casino, also free and open to the public.

The winners of the Donald W. Reynolds Governor's Cup and the Lt. Governor's Awards will be announced April 26 at the Awards Gala at the Siena Hotel Spa Casino in Reno. The April 26 event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by a 6:30 p.m. dinner and the awards.
