Nerds at Heart’s Third Annual Love Fest February 9, 2010

Smart singles kiss bitter goodbye and hop on the love train instead at this two-day Valentine’s party. Find a match with other unattached gay (7-10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9) or hetero (7-10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10) smarties during board games and trivia.

Includes a cocktail, $4 Love Potion #9 (vodka and fruit juices) specials, geeky prizes and ticket giveaways for Drury Lane Oakbrook’s “Funny Girl.”

Plus, show off your skills during a love-themed Great Books trivia contest led by Shimer College and win a non-credit creative writing class taught by author (and husband of Alpana Singh) Charles Blackstone.

Tuesday’s highlights include dating-themed mini performances by local chanteuse Amy Armstrong and Ms. Bertha Mason (actor and chef Michael Bowen) of “Baking with Bertha.”

Wednesday features interactive comedy by Wishbone Theatre Collective, a set of cheesy karaoke (think Air Supply and REO Speedwagon ) and the chance to win a nerd date from Clear (Landmark Century Centre Cinema tickets, a Noble Tree Café gift certificate and of course, streaming Wi-Max).
