The internationally acclaimed Nederlands Dans Theater II, founded over 30 years ago with the goal of feeding the main company (Nederlands Dans Theater I) with young talent, is now known for being one of the most revolutionary ensembles in the world of contemporary dance.

Returning to NYC after ten years, NDT II will present three works by Lightfoot León that include the New York premiere of Sad Case and the U.S. premieres of Said and Done and Shutters Shut. The program will also feature the New York premiere of Jiří Kylián’s Sleepless. Music featured in the program will include Bach, Mozart and Perez Prado & His Orchestra, as well as a poem read by Gertrude Stein titled If I Told Him: A Completed Portrait of Picasso [1923]. Be prepared to see this talented troupe bring astounding technique and boundless energy to The Joyce stage.
