Pulitzer Prize-winning composer and a much-loved diarist known for his extraordinary candor and gift of social observation, Ned Rorem has been honored both at home and abroad. Filmmakers James Dowell and John Kolomvakis' loving portrait of Rorem looks at the artist as he moves into his twilight years, the shadow of his own mortality reflected in the worsening illness of his longtime companion, James Holmes, who died of AIDS during the film's decade-long gestation (from 1994-2004). Ned Rorem will be interviewed after the screening by cultural writer Matthew Gurewitsch. Filmmakers James Dowell and John Kolomvakis will be present at the film screening.
