Hugh Wolff, an inspired conductor of energy and passion, was appointed the new Stanford and Norma Jean Calderwood Director of Orchestras at New England Conservatory in 2008. Wolff has promised to “stir it up” during his tenure and has already inspired his students to new challenges and new heights of expression. On April 7, at Symphony Hall, this veteran of the National Symphony and Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestras conducts New England Conservatory’s top student orchestra, the NEC philharmonia.
