Natura Morta: Still Life Painting and the Medici Collection November 12, 2006

The Medici dynasty which flourished in Florence, Italy from the 15th to mid-18th centuries is still acclaimed for its artistic patronage. The 40 paintings from the Medici collections offer a rare and unique opportunity to see beautiful works, an extensive collection of still-life paintings known as "Natura Morta" or "abundance in nature," a preoccupation which, in turn, influenced the development of western art and culture.
