The Association of Fundraising Professionals - Washington Chapter has chosen six outstanding philanthropists to honor at its 22nd anniversary National Philanthropy Day luncheon on Nov. 18, 2010.

The luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Washington State Convention Center, 800 Convention Place, in downtown Seattle. More than 1,000 donors, volunteers, leaders and other supporters of nonprofit organizations are expected to attend this event - one of the largest National Philanthropy Day celebrations in the nation.

National Philanthropy Day honors and supports the efforts and passions of philanthropic leaders and the organizations they serve. Six individuals and organizations will be recognized for their philanthropic work, for investing their passion, time, talents, and financial support to better their community.

The 2010 honorees are:

Matt Griffin and Evelyne Rozner - Outstanding Philanthropists (Seattle)

McKinstry Co. - Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation (Seattle)

Delivery Express, Inc. - Outstanding Small Company (Renton)

Whatcom Community Foundation - Outstanding Philanthropic Organization (Bellingham)

The Moles Family - Outstanding Family (Bellingham)

Madeleine Colvin and Grace Grubb - Outstanding Young Philanthropists (Bellevue)

"Each of these awardees inspires me with the unique ways in which they giving back to our communities," said Washington State University Director of Development for International Programs, Scott Garrepy, who is President of AFP Washington. "They all set the example that philanthropy is not something you do only when times are good - it's a commitment to helping each other no matter what is going on in the stock market."
