The National Money Show is a free, three-day family event sponsored by the nonprofit American Numismatic Association. Some of the world's most famous rare coins and currency will be exhibited including a $3 million 1913 Liberty Head nickel, a $3.5 million silver dollar made on behalf of President Andrew Jackson and a $1 billion U.S. Treasury Department display that includes $100,000 bills and the legendary "Portland Penny," the coin that was flipped in 1845 to determine the city's name. There will be educational seminars; a children's treasure hunt trivia game; 500 dealers buying and selling coins and currency; and free, informal appraisals of the public's old coins and paper money. You can see a billion bucks and it won't cost a cent. All events are open to the public and free.
