The Gala is an annual fundraiser for the National Japanese American Memorial Foundation (NJAMF). This year, it commemorates the 21st anniversary of the Civil Liberties Act of 1988. The evening will honor CBS Television Network; three surviving Japanese American Medal of Honor Recipients, Senator Daniel K. Inouye, Hiroshi “Hershey” Miyamura, and George T. Sakato; and Congressman Xavier Becerra. Tickets start at $150 for individuals and can be purchased by calling (202) 530-0015 or by visiting www.njam.org. NJAMF educates the public about the Japanese American experience during World War II to ensure such actions never take place again to any group.
