Marimbist Naoko Takada was born in Tokyo and first appeared as soloist with orchestra at the age of 11, when she played with the Tokyo Symphony and the Tokyo Chamber Orchestra. In addition to her career as a performer, Takada has published arrangements of various works for marimba.
