Authors Libby Hellmann, Zoe Sharp, and Shane Gericke will highlight the dark side of mystery writing at a free program on Wednesday, September 26 at 7 p.m.

Libby Hellmann is the award-winning author of A Shot to Die For, An Image of Death, A Picture of Guilt and An Eye for Murder. Her most recent work is a collection of dark stories called Chicago Blues, which captures the depths to which people sink when they run out of options. Hellmann is a Washington, D.C. transplant that has lived in the Chicago area with her family and beagle for almost thirty years.

Zoe Sharp is visiting from the English Lake District of the United Kingdom. She is the bestselling author of Killer Instinct, Riot Act, Hard Knocks, First Drop, Road Kill, and Second Shot. In Sharp’s spare time, she enjoys sailing, fast cars, target shooting, and reading.

Shane Gericke, a former senior financial editor for the Chicago Sun-Times, debuted his first novel in 2006. He is now the author of national bestsellers Blown Away and Cut to the Bone. Gericke is a Naperville native, where his thrillers are set.
