Soul comes in many shapes and sounds and comes at you from a hundred different angles and places. Philadelphias got an overabundance of it. Always had (thank you Gamble & Huff), Always will. Must be something in the water.
Mutlu Onaral must have drunk a whole lot of that water growing up. He may be more R & F (rhythm & folk) than R & Blues. You can even add the bounce of the Brazilian and the sway of the Jamaican in his tunes. But the 27 year old singer, instrumentalist and composer, known to everyone as Mutlu, has always sounded as if hes been drunk on the Philly punch that makes the funk flow.

The Brakes are a genuine rock and roll band at first glance. However given a closer look, elements of folk, jazz and even post-rock reveal themselves, making their sound a distinct intertwining of American music, held together by insightful lyrics and memorable songs. Their musicality shines through as the members switch instruments, trading guitars, basses and keyboards for trumpets and saxophones. The band's success is evident in the range of acts that this band has shared the bill with: Dave Matthews Band to The Hold Steady, Live to Willie Nelson & John Fogerty.

Who is Chris Kasper? Kasper is an American original who has been quietly distinguishing himself from the crowd of musicians with acoustic guitars and original songs. Kasper is a gifted songwriter who follows neither genre nor format. His songs are not what you'd expect from a dude traveling with an old dawg and sporting a 3-day beard. His award-winning songwriting (for both himself and the Lowlands, a 4-member traditional bluegrass act) consistently receives high praise. His songs take you on a musical ride, ethereal, floating, delicate, and genuine he winds you up and calms you down.
