Mustard's Retreat Outreach Benefit Concert

Mark your calendars! Saturday, May 22, Mustard's Retreat will perform at St. Clare's Spring Outreach Benefit Concert at St. Clare’s Episcopal Church, 2309 Packard St., Ann Arbor, MI 48104.

For almost 40 years, Mustard's Retreat has been entertaining audiences with their personal blend of Folk music, humor, and story-telling. The duo, comprised of David Tamulevich and Michael Hough, got their start in Ann Arbor, performing at The Ark's original coffee house. By the early 1980s, Tamulevich and Hough were hosting their own live radio show on WFBE that featured the music of Mustard's Retreat and other aspiring singer songwriters.

Nine albums and untold touring miles later, Mustard's Retreat shows no sign of letting up. Their expansive repertoire continues to sweep seamlessly between traditional ballads and contemporary Folk music. But like many great folk musicians of yesteryear, Mustard's Retreat isn't only about the music. "As much as we aim to entertain, we also look to educate," notes Tamulevich, "and hopefully enlighten and open some doors they [the audience] maybe hadn't seen before and, ideally, to create a moment of community where everybody is sharing the same experience, the same idea, the same song. I mean, that's the only reason for me to be up there: we really want that connection to people."

As an added bonus, All About Eve will kick off the benefit concert with an opening set. The concert will start at 7:30pm and be suitable for all ages. Bring your family. Bring your friends.
