“Regina Carter creates music that is wonderfully listenable, probingly intelligent and, at times, breathtakingly daring…taking the listener into the future of jazz.” Time Magazine

As part of the BMO Main Stage Concerts for MusicFest Vancouver, Regina Carter takes to the stage of the Vogue theatre August 8th, 2011.

Jazz-violinist Regina Carter is on a mission: to make a meaningful musical contribution and do it on her own terms. Her international career has been a veritable crescendo of success that shows no sign of letting up. Regina has performed with such jazz luminaries as Ray Brown, Dr. Billy Taylor, Marian McPartland, Kenny Barron, Wynton Marsalis, Randy Weston and Cassandra Wilson.

Her influences have ranged from R&B and East Indian to Classical music. Regina Carter’s Reverse Thread program is a collection of infectious African folk melodies in a beautiful, contemporary interpretation as only Regina can provide. It's an exploration of the old and new — and that of a musician internationally acclaimed as among the most transcendent voices of contemporary violin.

Tickets for Regina Carter and the Reverse Thread Project may be purchased via the Vogue Theatre online at voguetheatre.com, by phone 604.569.1144 or in person at the Vogue Box Office (Monday to Saturday 10am – 6pm, Sundays 12pm – 4pm).
