About the artists
The Tokyo String Quartet has captivated audiences and critics alike since it was founded in 1969 at the Juilliard School. It is regarded as one of the supreme chamber music ensembles of the world and is now considered to be at the height of its powers. The artists perform on ?The Paganini Quartet?, on loan from The Nippon Music Foundation of Japan.

Programme:

The program opens with Mozart?s masterpiece of poise and beauty and concludes with Beethoven?s last completed work. Interposed between the two is the much-anticipated premiere of Sculthorpe's String Quartet no 16.
