201 E. Randolph Street
Chicago, Illinois

Presented by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Millennium Park, Music Without Borders expands this year to eight double-bill concerts June 3 through July 22. In its fifth year, the wildy popular free international music series features traditional folk and pop artists from around the globe.

Former Tonight Show music director and Grammy award-winning trumpeter Doc Severinsen brings his latest project, "The Rhythm of Life", to the Park for a night of Mexican music and sizzling Latin rhythms, mixing Argentine tango, Spanish flamenco and gypsy jazz. The musical celebration begins with Chicago’s own Sones de México Ensemble, an ensemble dedicated to Mexican folkloric music including huapango, gustos and son jarocho. Be sure to check out "Beyond the Music", a free lecture/demo at noon in the Claudia Cassidy Theater in the Chicago Cultural Center on Mexico's regional styles of folk music with live demonstrations by the Sones de México Ensemble.
