Music of Iraq & India: Rahim AlHaj & Alam Khan September 19, 2009

Two of the world's most beloved players of ancient stringed instruments, the Iraqi oud and the Indian sorod, will come together to present Ancient Sounds: Music of Iraq and India. 2008 Grammy nominee, Iraqi virtuoso oud musician & composer, Rahim AlHaj and the acclaimed Alam Khan, son of Ali Akbar Khan, will perform together accompanied by Middle Eastern and Indian percussion on their first joint US tour. This remarkable collaboration between these two widely acknowledged and consummate string instrumentalists brings together the musical heritage of their respective ancient cultures in a contemporary way resulting in a mesmerizing and harmonious musical dialogue.
