The Young Fish School of World Drumming will start the Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music’s “Music for Families” series at Brooklyn Conservatory concert hall on Sunday, November 23rd at 3 p.m with a bang!. Co-Founders and Co-Teachers Diana Young and R. A. Fish present a highly celebrated and enjoyable approach to understanding multi-cultural diversity and similarity through their tapestry of unique hands-on global drumming, musical, and therapeutic teaching methodologies. Utilizing a large world map and an assortment of drums, percussion, and musical instruments from around the world they explore the rhythmic and musical landscape of the Americas; West Africa; North Africa and the Middle East; India; and Asia.

Kids of all ages will have lots of fun learning these global rhythms: Malian/Latin Clave, Jazz, North African Middle Eastern dance rhythms, Indian Classical, Brazilian Samba, Cuban Cha Cha, and more. The Young Fish School of World Drumming is listed on the artist rosters of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School, the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts,VSA of RI (Very Special Arts for special needs children and teenagers) and, education partners with Cox.
