The Multicultural Writers Conference (MWC) will be held at Emerson College in Boston, MA, July 17-18, 2009. The two-day conference is composed of workshops covering fiction, personal essay, memoir, and poetry writing. Develop your creative-writing skills, get feedback on your work, and meet writers of color at this professional studies event. Writers of all ethnicities from the New England area and beyond are welcome to participate in the Multicultural Writers Conference.

Workshop leaders include author/Basic Black TV-moderator Kim McLarin (Taming It Down), and authors Jennifer Baszile (The Black Girl Next Door), Reginald O'Hare Gibson (Storms Beneath the Skin), and Emily Bernard (Some of My Best Friends: Writers on Interracial Friendship). The conference also features panel discussions with industry practitioners who will discuss how to find a literary agent, how to publish your work, and how to build community.

You may register to participate in workshops covering one creative-writing genre, or register to participate in workshops covering two genres.
