Mr. The Kid is a 4-piece group, occasionally expanding to 5 or 6, with a core lineup of drums, bass, keys, and trumpet/cornet. Drawing on a wide variety of musical styles, the band's sound lands somewhere on the outskirts of funk jazz with decided rock overtones and a smattering of psychedelia. It is an amorphous entity, shifting form and feel in reaction to the particular setting, players, and material involved. A healthy dose of original compositions are intermixed with other "standard" and not-so-standard material for a taste that can't be beat. Above all, Mr. The Kid explores the glorious freedom of musical expression with wild abandon.
