Comments/description:
To honor women artists in our collections, we offer the film Right Out of History: the Making of Judy Chicago's Dinner Party, which documents the creation of Dinner Party, an artistic tribute to women of achievement throughout history. Consisting mainly of painted ceramics and needlework, the exhibit was conceived by feminist artist Judy Chicago and created through the cooperative efforts of numerous women and men during the late 1970s. The film includes the experiences of those working on the project and reactions of viewers.
