Mottley's, voted "Best Comedy Club 2009" by The Boston Phoenix, presents "Smarternative!" It's smart! It's alternative. It's Smarternative!
This show is a collection of the hottest rising stars in Boston (Steve Macone, Chris Fleming, Ahmed Bharoocha, Renata Tutko and Matt D.) who all have one thing in common: they're different. It's like all those people your friend told you to check out are doing a show together. Each performer has a unique performance style and worldview. Some of their jokes were scribbled on napkins at 3am, some were written at Oxford. Either way, it will be like nothing you've ever heard before. Topics to be discussed include the tried and true comedy club hits like: The personification of time, ducks, the metaphysics of feeling numb, the bloody meat guy at the grocery store, religion as jellybeans, and this really great old lady face that hurts to look at.
