DETROIT MICHIGAN, DEC 31, 2008: It was announced today that several of the area's Savvy Chic Businesses have planned an Event in Celebration of the Inauguration of President Elect Barak Obama. This red carpet elegant cocktail party will be an event of a lifetime, full of fireworks and just what Detroit needs to set off a new year of change and positive direction. The event will provide a portion of its proceeds to the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
On January 20th, one day after we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., We have yet another reason to celebrate, the Inauguration of the 44th President-Elect, Barack Obama. To mark the beginning of this Historic new Era, there will be a Gala of Presidential Proportions held.

Detroit will join our Nations Capital in its celebration of the Inauguration of President elect Barack Obama with fireworks, fanfare and fabulousness January 20, 2009 at the posh, new Flat 151 in Downtown Detroit.

We are all overflowing with hope and pride, and there’s no better place to celebrate Barack Obama’s swearing in than at Flat 151, located at 151 Congress street in downtown Detroit said Tonette Bryant-Carter, Senior Development Associate of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.

This Black Tie affair hosted by Detroit’s own Charles Pugh (Fox 2 news) will boast performances by national recording artists, cuisine including 18 varieties of h’or duerves by the Metro areas renowned top chefs, and a VIP Libation Lounge. A portion of the proceeds of the Gala will be donated to the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
