This event is aimed at more able students from Year 9 to Year 13 including those pupils who have the potential to be gifted and/or talented and others whose teachers feel they would benefit from such an experience.

The day will be led by Eugene Matthias, president of the Magic Club of Great Britain who uses elements of magic to support and develop themes such as the five keys to success, overcoming the impossible and self-belief. Eugene will be working in partnership with Derek Redmond, British Olympic 400m Gold Medallist to present this very special and unique Motivational Master Class.
Derek is one of Britains greatest ever athletes whose career has brought him gold medals at World, European and Commonwealth levels. He is regarded in sporting circles as an extraordinary talent who was never given the opportunity to show what he was really capable of.In telling his own story, Derek takes the audience on a roller coaster ride of emotions but also explains the secret of his success, both as an individual and within a team, thus demonstrating the power of motivation and self-belief through his own experiences.

There is no cost for this day. Students should, however, bring a packed lunch, but staff attending will be able to purchase a lunch. Refreshment will be provided during the morning.
