Fellow Fan of the Motel,

This heat and humidity will not last forever... we're here to tell you that just as the weather breaks and Labor Day is over, we've got a great Morrison Motel comedy showcase coming your way to kick off the fall season on Tuesday, September 8th at 8:30PM. Right now, while you're thinking about and while tickets are still available, please call the Cafe at (212) 989-9319 and make your reservations. Look how much fun you're going to have:

We're so happy to finally score as our headliner the most wonderful Al Lubel. This funny, funny man and one time lawyer won the $100,000 grand prize on Star Search less than a year after leaving his practice. Al has appeared on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, and went on to appear on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno seven more times. He has also been featured in the Showtime/BBC documentary “A Standup Life”, on A&E’s ‘Evening at the Improv’ and on MTV’s ‘Stand-Up Comedy.’ When not filling theaters across the country with wildly enthusiastic fans, Al likes to play in very intimate quarters like Cornelia Street... lucky us.

Joining Al is the woman Jerry Stiller credits for making him wet his pants, Maureen Langan. Maureen was named one of the “Ten Standout Stand-ups Worth Watching” by Backstage Magazine, and you may also recognize her from her appearances on HBO, WE Television and Comic’s Unleashed. She's fearlessly funny and all yours on this one special night. Joining the fun is the Awkward King himself, Baron Vaughn. He is one of the five featured comedians in the very much anticipated Comedy Central movie, ‘Awkward Kings of Comedy’, due out in February. Fresh from his Broadway appearance in Manhattan Theater Club’s ‘Drowning Crow’ at the Biltmore Theater, from VH1’s “Awesomely Oversexed”, from Gotham Comedy Club, or from his regional and national TV commercials... we're tired just watching this guy. You'll love him, trust us.

Old friends and Motel favorites will be back in force as usual. Comedy Central’s and VH1’s Liam McEneaney will be here, and we're the better for it. The proud member of both Improvised Shakespeare and Baby Loves Candy, and star of the South by Southwest feature ‘Splinterheads’, Thomas Middleditch joins us as well. And the man behind the twice featured MySpace video of the week, Laundromat Sketch, and ‘Keith and the Girl’ regular, Ray DeVito himself! All we need now is you. Please, join us. We'll leave the light on.

Best,
John Morrison
