The game of Croquet originated in England, and is characterized by stuffy elites gingerly tapping small wooden balls through a defined course on their estate's overly manicured lawns.

Mondo Croquet however, originated in Portland, OR and is characterized by silly Americans whacking bowling balls with heavy sledge hammers around a croquet course of re-bar wickets... in satirical British garb.

Here in Madison, we're playing by the same rules, but in lumberjack attire a la Monty Python. But really, silly outfits/costumes of ANY kind are encouraged. (Half a dozen Wisconsin dairy cows wielding 16# hammers ought to raise a few eyebrows.) Of course, everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of what they may (or may not) be wearing.

Each participant is encouraged to bring their own sledge hammer
(1 hammer per ~3-4 people is sufficient) and ideally their own bowling ball. -- We're trying to procure a few dozen used bowling balls for last-minute joiners, but it's proving to be quite the challenge. So, if you can provide your own, even better. If not, please don't let that stop you, we're more than happy to share!

Bring refreshments of a picnic nature.
