"Moku O Keawe" is a traditional title that honors a former ruling chief. The ruling chief Keawe is recognized and connected to the island of Hawaii. His name lives as we perpetuate it through usage.
Moku O Keawe Foundation is a private, non-profit organization with the purpose of enriching the practice and development of Hula and the associated arts. We welcome our visitors with aloha, integrity and respect.
The Moku O Keawe International Festival is a 5-day celebration of hula and the arts of hula, expressed in many forms. The Festival includes a Hawaiian music Concert, Hula Competition and Final Night Performance, Cultural Workshops, and a Hawaii Marketplace. Hula Halau (troupes) from Hawaii , Japan and across the world compete in Kupuna (senior), Kahiko (ancient), and Auana (modern hula divisions. Events and workshops are held throughout the Waikoloa Beach Resort.
