Moe’s Bookstore in Berkeley has announcement the next program in its recently debuted cookbook discussion series. On Wednesday, July 13, beginning at 7:30 p.m., author David Darlington will discuss, among other things, his newest book, An Ideal Wine: One Generation's Pursuit of Perfection--and profit--in California.

Darlington is the author of four other books: In Condor Country (1987), Angels' Visits (1991, published in paperback as Zin), The Mojave (1996) and Area 51 (1997). He is a frequent contributor to Food & Wine Magazine, Bicycling, and the San Francisco Chronicle. He has won a National Magazine Award (2009, for Public Interest) and a James Beard Award (2008, for Writing on Spirits, Wine or Beer).

The Moe’s Bookstore discussion series, moderated by Stanislaw Sobolewski, a Moe’s cookbook buyer for the last decade, is ongoing and include guest speakers, featured books, and food samplings. The series is free of charge and open to the public.

Open since 1959, Moe’s is the Bay Area’s foremost independent bookstore with over 200,000 titles for sale, 3,241of which are cookbooks.
