San Francisco, California 94105

January 20, 2010. The Commonwealth Club of California, International Relations Forum presents Patrick Geary, Professor of Medieval History, UCLA, as he explores the resurgence of ethnocentric nationalism since 1989 in Europe, which makes an appeal to long discredited but still powerful myths. He argues that this pseudo-history is being used to support particular agendas that harken back to the dangerous nationalism of a century ago, while constructing a pan-European identity that may be just as dangerous. The program begins at 5:15 p.m. and is located at the Club's San Francisco office at 595 Market Street, 2nd floor.
