Architect Anthony Rubano with the Illinois Historic Preservation
Agency (IHPA), working through the Illinois Main Street program, will
be in Elgin to lead a walking tour in Downtown Elgin.

This is FREE and open to the public. The tour starts at 5:30pm, at
the east entrance of the Appellate Court, Second District at 55
Symphony Way; concentrating on the modern era (1920s through the
1970s) architecture in Downtown Elgin. The tour will proceed inside
the Court building, led by Clerk of the Court, Robert Mangan, and
Mike Massey. Photographs are permitted.

Rubano will lead the rest of the tour, visiting the Hemmens Cultural
Center, City Hall, the Elgin Tower Building, Chase Bank, Union Bank,
and several more before ending around 7pm.
