Model Bridge Building Competition w/Students & Engineers April 19, 2008

40 teams of talented Bay Area high-schoolers hook up with top-notch engineers to design and construct fanciful model bridges solid enough to hold three fat bricks. Teams from six San Francisco and Bay Area high schools present their masterpieces to a panel of judges comprised of structural engineers and visual artists who award the ‘best’ in a variety of categories. The Youth Ensemble from San Francisco Circus Center will perform (during judging deliberations). Free. Sponsored by Engineers Alliance for the Arts.
