18h - Rui Carmo

“Vertical handsets and consumer services evolution”

IST graduate, telecommunications professional since 1994 (Vodafone staffer from 1999 onwards), deeply involved in the roll out of fixed and mobile data services (corporate services, network planning for 3G mobile broadband and DSL consumer products) in Portugal. Currently user Community Manager and Product Manager for vertical handsets, smartphone applications at Vodafone Internet Services (part of VF Group).

19h - André Marquet

“Is it Possible to Build a Telecom IT Cluster in Portugal? The Examples of Finland and Israel”.

André Marquet works as product manager for Wit-Software, a leading innovative company that creates smart applications and services for telecommunication and media companies. Prior he worked as a system architect for Nokia Siemens Networks. In 2006, he served as IT manager for AICEP agency of the Portuguese government, and before that he collaborated as pre-sales engineer with EFACEC SA, in international offices. He began his career with ADETTI, working as a researcher while completing his Master’s degree in telecommunications from ISCTE of Lisbon, after having earned an engineering degree from the same University in 2003. Mr. Marquet has been granted with international and national patents related to automatic video quality evaluation.
