Tonight at the 9:30 Club, celebrate Black history in the making as Fertile Ground, Wayna, and Michael Aaron share the stage for an Aquarian Jam. In addition to having bragging rights for being the most successful indie-soul act in the world, the soul-reggae-jazz combo of Fertile Ground is a unit choc-full of aquarians. Look for the crew to bring the party to the stage as they celebrate the birthdays of their members. Also check for the DC DJ debut of Fertile Ground's James Collins a.k.a. "DJ Big Game", who'll be bring the thump to the bumpin' floor.
This night will also see soulsinger, Wayna, bring a show that'll be shooting for the moon. Wayna, who was recently featured in Essence Magazine has been described as international singer whose style can be found between Stevie Wonder, Minnie Ripperton, and Zap Mama. Expect this Ethiopian sista to mesmerize the crowd with new jams, as well as songs from her debut disc, "Moments of Clarity." Joining Wayna to set the night off will be Michael Aaron and Funkglove, whose show is not to be missed.
