The Children’s Museum in Easton will be hosting a special day of activities on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day January 18, 2010. The Museum is open from 9am-5 pm, with activities taking place between 10am-4 pm. This day’s activities will be inspired by Ziggy Marley’s Family Time album. This album’s fun, family songs will fit perfectly with this event that focuses showcasing each individual’s uniqueness.

Ziggy Marley’s poem “My Helping Hands” will inspire children (and adults) to create a “helping hands tree.” Other activities include using Marley’s songs and having children create their own lyrics as well as partaking in some fun dance activities.

Each child will help make a project by using recycled materials, such as old plastic CD jewel cases, to create one large collage for the Museum. The completed project will show how beautiful things are when we work and bring our unique talents together.

We also ask then if you can please bring a pair of new or gently used mittens or gloves that we’ll donate to needy families in the area.

The Children’s Museum is located in the Old Fire Station on Sullivan Avenue in North Easton Village. Admission is $6.00 per person; members and children under 1 are free. For more information, check our website www.childrensmuseumineaston.org or call us at (508) 230-3789.
