Join hundreds of your neighbors for a community-wide day of "tikkun olam" ("repair of the world") as part of a national day of service to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Whether you come on your own or with your family and friends, this fun and inspirational day will leave you feeling accomplished and energized.

Mitzvah Day will feature a range of hands-on service projects for people of all ages. Participants will work in small groups on projects addressing issues of poverty, hunger, housing and homelessness, aging, the environment and more. We offer over 25 service projects to choose from, including: crafts for hospitalized children, serving meals at shelters, environmental restoration & clean-up, tree planting, helping at food banks, visiting with seniors, and much more! Please see our website for project descriptions.

After registering, grab a bagel & some coffee or juice on your way out and then join with other volunteers at your selected service project around the community. Time & location varies by project. Please plan to arrive at the OFJCC approximately 30-45 minutes before your project begins.

PLEASE NOTE: Pre-registration is required and space is limited in each service project.
