A gay, white man is missing -- possibly murdered. A straight, African-American woman, his neighbor, grieves while remembering their unlikely friendship, carried on only through letters slipped under each other's doors. Rarely speaking face to face, they shared their most intimate thoughts, a peculiar fascination with soap operas and more imaginary flowers than one can count.
