Southern debutante Miss Magnolia Beatrice Devareux Beaumont has choked to death on the meat of a pork rib, only to find herself suddenly inhabiting the body of a thirty-three year old gay New Yorker (whom she refers to as Master Joseph) on his way to Provincetown, Massachusetts for a birthday vacation. But before Miss Beaumont can quietly get used to Master Joseph's cosmopolitan lifestyle, an offensive painting suddenly jolts her into his awareness. After the initial shock and a few disagreements, the two spend the rest of the trip contemplating the deeper meanings of life, why they were brought together, and how a kite can be such a magical thing. A modern comic fantasy celebrating the beauty and magic of P-town.

Miss Magnolia Beaumont Goes to Provincetown took the New York International Fringe Festival by storm in 2010, and was awarded the FringeNYC Overall Excellence Award. Back Stage hailed it “rich, wise and deeply human” while NYTheatre.com raved that “(Joe) Hutcheson’s performance is grand.” In June, the play won the 2011 Critic’s Pick of the Cincinnati Fringe Festival.
