Raven Theatre brings back Greg Kolack, director of last season's Jeff Award winning hit, 'columbinus,' to tackle Tom Patrick's controversial dark comedy. Presented as a workshop in Stage Left's LeapFest 3, 'Misamerica' deftly censures cultural insensitivity, ignorance and blatant disrespect of foreign cultures. Placed in the center of a Middle Eastern conflict, one brave American footwear company sets out to liberate the oppressed feet of the people. Designer coffee in hand, these self-defined heroes ignore the dangers around them to conduct market research and spread their capitalistic wisdom to the masses. After all, doesn't everyone want to be just like us?
