Mirah’s lo-fi indie pop has been at the heart of the vibrant Northwest independent music scene ever since K Records issued her debut album in 2000. Her eclectic and imaginative songwriting is an array of stylistic shifts ranging from singer-songwriter ballads to electro-rock to chamber pop to Latin folk. Her distinct sound strikes intriguing balance between wistful and heavy as Mirah’s clear gorgeous voice lilts above dramatic and experimental production. She has released a number of albums under the K records label including “Joyride”, a double-disc collection of remixes and reinterpretations of her songs by collaborators such as Anna Oxygen, Yacht, and the Blow's Khaela Maricich. In March of 2009 Mirah will unveil her new full length album, (a)spera, which is set to feature appearances by Phil Elverum of Mount Eerie/Microphones, Chris Funk of the Decemberists, and Tara Jane O'Neil. www.myspace.com/coldcoldwater
