Minnesota Opera: Salome April 20, 2010

Scandalously erotic, Richard Strauss's infamous opera tells the Biblical story of obsession and vengeance. Salome lusts after the imprisoned prophet John the Baptist, who rejects her advances. Her lecherous stepfather, King Herod, vows to pay any price to watch her dance. She agrees, and perversely claims the prophet's head as her reward.
