Min Xiao-Fen's Asian Trio: Return of the Dragon July 19, 2009

Chinese pipa virtuoso and composer Min Xiao-Fen kicks off the Chinese Cultural Week in Chicago with a program that weaves Chinese folk music, opera and Taoist music with American jazz and bluegrass.  The trio features Okkyung Lee on cello and Satoshi Takeishi on percussion and electronics, along with Min Xiao-Fen on pipa and vocals.
