Liverpool, England L8 4RD

Mill Street Memorial Garden is a community garden designed by local school children. The garden was originally unused land, prone to fly tipping and anti-social behaviour. The land has now been transformed by Jigsaw, Liverpool Housing Trust. The memorial garden is designed around remembering war heroes. The garden has a memorial stone, poppy field, additional garden area with soil from SOMME and art work from local artist and children. We also have the local church who attends to deliver prayers. The garden is open for visitors to reflect on the day.

The children’s inspiration for the design was for all ages to come together and remember all the fallen heroes past and present. The garden will be open between 10am to 3pm to all visitors on Saturday 30th June 2012.
