Prairie Farms Dairy makes Milk Cool for Kids with Milk Rocks! ™ Concert Tour featuring Britney Christian

Indianapolis, IN – October 1, 2007

Prairie Farms Dairy has partnered with Milk Rocks! to bring recording artist Britney Christian to local schools the week of October 8-12th. During her Indiana tour, Christian will be performing at 8 schools in the area.

Britney Christian is the official spokesperson for Milk Rocks!, a multifaceted campaign promoting the benefits of milk as a healthy alternative to sugar-based drinks. Milk Rocks! is a student-focused marketing initiative developed by Blue Ridge Paper Products Inc., the nation’s largest producer of school milk cartons. It stresses the benefits of a healthy active lifestyle, self-esteem, paperboard packaging, and incorporates positive life principles throughout the campaign. Game company Baffle Gab™ and premier banjo and guitar manufacturer Epiphone™ are sponsorship partners in the campaign.

This high profile effort to promote a healthy lifestyle among school age children comes at a time when obesity in teens is at an all-time high. Currently sugar-based drinks are being replaced with healthier beverages in schools across the country. Recent research has shown that schools can increase milk sales and consumption up to 34% by providing colorful and interactive milk cartons, offering a variety of flavors, and incorporating some simple marketing. According to Mike Wren, Sales Manger for Prairie Farms Dairy, “Prairie Farms is committed to developing products and promotions that resonate with younger consumers and are very proud to participate in the MILK ROCKS! Tour”.

Britney Christian is a 17 year-old, Southern California native with a powerful and soulful voice. After only three days on iTunes, she had the No. 1 ranked song on ‘Up and Coming Hot Artists. Her debut album, ‘Everything To Me’, spawned 3 top 25 iTunes hits in less than a week.

Christian is very pleased to represent a product and cause she believes in. “I’m really excited to be able to promote my music in a healthy way and set a good example for others,” she said.
