Bucks County, PA / The Downboys are a band of rock n' rollers that are not afraid to tell you how it is, how it should be or to just go away. They like to take things to the edge and see how far it will go, it doesn't matter if it's good or bad. They bring this attitude to the music, and that is what gives them their raw passionate sound, from the boom of the drum, the drive of the bass, the grit of the rhythm and the fire in the melody. They started in early 2006 when Matt Gries and Chris Gossger started messing around with some songs Matt was writing. They shared the same liking for no holds bar attitude in their music and decided to put together a band that could hold up to that standard. Through many trials and errors, they found promise in two individuals, Steve Ridgeway and Kyle Merl. These guys brought the rhythm section together with the aggression and power that Matt and Chris were looking for. From the beginning to the present, The Downboys have been making a mark on the Philadelphia music scene, making fans everywhere they go, from the Fire to Abilene's to The Grape Street Pub, and even one of Philadelphia's premier rock clubs the North Star Bar.
